The day of cousins Part 2

In the early evening Mitch and I went to the Mitchell's to celebrate all the October birthdays. (Jason, Brian, Jeff and Lauren). Jeff wasn't there because he was hunting but we all had a good visit.

When we were finishing up dinner Caitlyn was entertaining Mitch. She had him laughing so loud with her jumps and twirls. It was so cute.

The day of cousins Part 1

In the morning Mitch and I went down to the Rydman house to visit the Carroll side of the family. The adults rotated going to Leann's for a massage while the others stayed back to visit and entertain the kids (or should I say be entertained by them)

When I went to pick up Mitch from Mimi we decided to met at Bonnie's house . As a special bonus the Roddy's were able to meet for a visit as well.

Mitch went to Vashon this weekend for a slumber party with Mimi and Papa. Jeff and I got to go on a date night to celebrate our 6 year anniversay.

Crouch cousins

We had a visit from the Crouch cousins last weekend. Caitlyn and Lauren did a great job playing with Mitch. They were making funny faces and sounds. They also made sure Mitch always had a toy to play with. Mitch was well taken care of by his cousins.

Sitting up

Mitch can sit up by himself!! We looked at the video monitor the other night and saw Mitch sitting up in his crib. Since then we've moved the crib mattress lower. Here are a couple pictures of him waking up in the morning, happy and ready for the day.

Oh no! This looks too much like crawling. He isn't moving yet but he is getting strong enough to hold himself up on all fours. I better start thinking about baby proofing things.

Mitch is a good eater but you may wonder how much food he actually gets in his mouth after looking at this picture.

Jeff's sisters came over on Saturday so we could get a picture of kids. On the first try, Mitch was hungry and Lauren was being shy. After Mitch was fed and Lauren found a toy snail to hold, we were ready to try again.

Toothy Smile

We have a tooth! No pictures because his tongue gets in the way when I try to look at it.
(Mimi suggested I make a note of the event on the blog so I don't have to remember on my own when his first tooth came in.)

First cereal

We tried some rice cereal for Mitch's dinner tonight. He was trying to suck on the spoon like it was a bottle. The cereal was so runny it was hard to keep on the spoon. We aren't sure how much he actually ate and how much went down the front of his shirt.

We got some JC Penney photos but I wasn't able to save a copy of the proofs so you'll just have to wait for a copy in the mail.

When our backup daycare provider quit on us, family was there to help. Thank you to all who made time in your day to take care of our little guy.

Crib Bumper

I recently removed the crib bumper from Mitch's crib because it was easier to change the sheets without it in the way. Apparently I need to put it back on. This is the photo I snapped of Mitch the other morning.

Mitch gave Jeff and I good laugh today when he reached up and guided the Coors Light can to his mouth. Although he is a little young to start drinking we are happy to see he prefers the high quality of Coors Light beer.

Sleeping Beauty

Everybody in "blogland" has posted a sleeping picture recently. I snapped this photo of Mitch this morning. Now that he can (kindof) choose what side to sleep on we usually see him on his side.

No, he doesn't have any pajamas on (too hot). Yes, his diaper is very full.

Today Mitch spent some time in his bumbo chair playing with his slot machine. We call this toy the slot machine because it lights up and makes sounds like the machines at the casinos.

Aunt Mandy

Aunt Mandy came over to watch Mitch this last week. He wore a special outfit for her visit. Although Bonnie bought the outfit for Mitch, Mandy is the first Aunt to see the outfit in person.

We tried to get a good picture but Mitch was out of smiles for the day.

I am thankful that both Jeff and I have family so close. Sometimes our schedules run into conflict and we can always count on family to help pick up Mitch or watch him for a little bit.

Jeff and I took some time to sort through the paper/junk that has accumulated in our "office". Mitch kept an eye on us to make sure we did a good job.

Mitch was playing in his chair today. He would concentrate on kicking his legs and then look up at me for a reaction. I snapped a little video of our fun game. Please ignore my "mommy" talk.

Mitch's new trick is to pull up his pant legs. Not sure if he is trying to tell me he doesn't like his outfit or if he just really loves the color red.
